Gormanston - Final Round Fixture - Sunday 12th February 2023

Updated: Feb 10, 2023

Hi All,

This Sunday is our final round. Link to final round fixtures above. Thanks for all your support to make the re-launch of this special tournament a success. We will be handing out over 2400 certificates and medals to kids that have participated in this event. The numbers are staggering. We owe a debt to Denis Forde and Canice Reide for creating and running this format which I believe is hugely relevant and important to the development of the sport in the region. There is some housekeeping below if you could review in order to make the last day run smoothly.

Presentations There will be presentations made throughout the day in line with the age groups. So when academy teams finish their games they will go straight up to the balcony for the presentation of medals at 10am. As the rest of the groups finish playing they will go up. If you have two teams playing, the first team will wait until the second team completes their final game of that group. The entire squad goes together. I will release a schedule of teams so there is an order. There will also be several awards given out namely.

Certificates

N.B. You will be handed an envelope with blank certs on arrival. Number of certs are as indicated. While your teams are playing you will need to get one of your mentors to fill out names on cert. Please ensure to bring your squad list and assign this task, we do not have the resources to do this for you. Presentation Medal and certs presentations are given out upstairs. We had envisioned getting some of the Meath/Dublin Senior County hurling and camogie players to give out the medals but unfortunately we could not get this over the line this year given the leagues starting and the time constraints. If any team wants to bring along a senior/minor/u16 player from their club to present medals to their team I think that would add a little extra buzz to the team. Please feel free to explore this option. If not, we are more than happy to present. Photos can be taken by parents of individual presentations and then team photos will be then taken. The process shouldn't take too long and you should be out half an hour after your last game. There are some clubs/teams who have chosen not to do the presentation and will do a medal presentation at their club which is perfectly fine. For these clubs/teams they will just do the team photos upstairs only. Moriarty's Supervalu, Keoghs and Ffyees have kindly provided packs of (water, crisps, banana) for each of the kids. We thank them for the same. I would like to thank our other sponsors Specsavers Balbriggan who are a long time supporter of the tournament. We hope to have further sponsors in future events so we can increase the packs given out to the participating children. I would like to thank Grainne Redmond Skerries Harps who has worked in this area for us. If any of this group would like to come on board with sponsorship in the future please feel free to reach out. Yours in Sport Niall Brunnock
